The games stadium in Carson, California is significantly quieter today than it was a week ago! That's because the CrossFit Games are done and dusted for another year.
The 2016 CrossFit Games was a pretty special occasion. The 10th anniversary of the CrossFit Games. "A backyard throw-down" - starting in the original home of the first ever CrossFit Games - The Ranch, Aromas, California.
JAW proudly had 3 Ambassadors @ the 2016 CrossFit Games.
Sara Sigmundsdottir competed as an Individual athlete, and ended up on the Podium, placing 3rd Overall!!! This was Sara's second ever CrossFit Games and second podium finish. What an outstanding achievement!
Sara's Best results were a 3rd placement in Double DT (9.48) and also a 3rd placement in The Plow (1.44). Sara received 9 x Top 10 finishes at this years Games.
Zeke Grove also competed as an Individual, and finished 39th overall. 2016 was Zeke's rookie year at the Games - but you can count on the fact that it won't be his last! We are sure to see Zeke there next Games Season.
Zeke had great fight and Determination all weekend, his best results were a tied 17th place in the Ranch Deadlift ladder (515 pounds) and 22nd place in the Ocean Swim (8.37). Such an amazing effort, Zeke!
Ambassador Sammy Wood competed in this year's games as a member in Crossfit Athletic. CrossFit Athletic took out 10th overall position, a fantastic finish.
CrossFit Athletic took out 1st place in the Team Ocean Swim (26.44). This was the team's third year in a row to win the ocean swim events. CrossFit Athletic had 10 x Top 10 finishes!
Congratulations to all the Australian Athletes who completed at this years Games. Special mention and big congrats also go to Tia Claire Toomey for coming 2nd for the second year in a Row!
The Spirit of the Games Award honours a Games Athlete who embodies the spirit of that community. 2016's Spirit of the Games Award winner is Kara Webb. Congratulations Kara!
